Why is it that I can go to bed so tired, but take up to 1 1/2 hours to fall asleep? Could it be hormone related?

I just facilitated a group to middle schoolers about sleep hygiene. A problem for many of them was erratic sleep schedules, especially on the weekends and sleeping with the T.V. on.
