great story and great advice, the parent as the ultimate advocate
Thank you so much for sharing this story. I had my younger sister tested for gluten 2 years ago after a whole life of stomach aches, mood swings and unbelievable fatigue. She is 24 and is now getting up at 5:00 am!!! for work, holds a great job and is in great physical shape. She swears to never eat gluten again because she feels so great. I then got tested and have been g-free for a year. My father and step-mother are now off and we have a great time cooking as a gluten free family. We all feel so much better! For us the moodiness is gone, joint aches and pains and bad intestinal problems are non-existent. My step-mom had auto immune disorders that have disappeared.
I heard you on the radio and was immediately drawn to your story because I have the exact same symptoms you had. I wanted to thank you for sharing your story and let you know that I have a doctor's appointment next week and intend to ask him for the blood test you talked about and will not take no for an answer. I am also going ot ask that I am referred to an allergist and GI specialist becuase enough is enough. I will let you know how everything turns out.
Patty- glad to hear your sister is doing so well! It is definitely a change of life, once you figure out the root of the problem.!

Cindy- Feel free to contact me if you have any questions: you can find me on Facebook. Please keep me updated on your progress. Remember to see continue to ask questions, and READ as much as you can, because you need to be your biggest advocate!
